Export Your Memories

5 min read

Most AI platforms store “memories” — facts they have learned about you over time. This guide explains how to gather those saved memories from each platform so you can include them in your memory pack.

ChatGPT Memories

  1. Open Settings

Go to ChatGPT and click your profile icon, then Settings.

  2. Navigate to Personalization > Memory

Click Personalization, then find the Memory section.

  3. Click “Manage”

Click Manage to see the full list of memories ChatGPT has saved about you. Each memory is a short statement about your preferences, background, or habits.

  4. Copy your memories

Select all the memories and copy them. You can paste them directly into the AI Migrator’s “Saved Memories” text field.

TIP
If you have already exported your ChatGPT data (via Settings or the Privacy Portal), your memories are already included in the download. Look for a file called memories.json or similar in the exported ZIP. You can upload the entire ZIP to the AI Migrator and it will extract your memories automatically alongside your conversations.

Claude Memories

Claude now has a memory feature that generates a summary of what it knows about you. Here is how to access it:

  1. Open Claude Settings

Go to claude.ai, click your profile icon, then select Settings.

  2. Go to Capabilities > Memory

In the Settings panel, navigate to Capabilities, then find the Memory section.

  3. Open “Memory from your chats”

Click on Memory from your chats. This will show you a summary file of everything Claude remembers about you. The summary is regenerated each night and does not include project-specific memory.

  4. Copy the memory summary

Open the memory file and copy all the text. Paste it into the AI Migrator’s text field — it will be parsed and merged with your other data automatically.

TIP
Claude’s memory summary is a great complement to a conversation export. It captures the key facts Claude has learned about you in a concise format that works well with the AI Migrator.
TIP
If you have already exported your data from Claude (via Settings > Privacy > Export data), the ZIP file includes not just your conversation history but also your memories and projects. You can upload the entire ZIP to the AI Migrator and it will extract everything automatically. You only need to copy your memory summary separately if you just want the memory without exporting all your conversations.

Gemini Memories

Google does not currently offer a way to export Gemini's memory. There is no dedicated memory file or export option like ChatGPT and Claude have. The closest you can get is browsing your Gemini Activity page, which shows the beginning of each conversation but not the full content.

To get the most out of your Gemini context, try this workaround:

  1. Browse your Gemini Activity

Go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini to see a list of your past interactions.

  2. Copy relevant snippets

Look through your activity for conversations where you shared personal preferences, background, or working style. Copy those snippets and paste them into the AI Migrator's text field.

TIP
Since there is no memory export for Gemini, consider simply writing down what you remember telling Gemini about yourself — your preferences, projects, background. Paste that into the AI Migrator. Your own summary is often more useful than the sparse activity data Google provides.

Using your memories in the migrator

You do not need to format your memories in any special way. Simply paste all of them — from whichever platforms you use — into the “Saved Memories” text area in the AI Migrator. The tool will parse and organize them automatically.

TIP
The more memories you include, the richer your memory pack will be. Do not worry about duplicates — the migrator handles deduplication during the merge step.
NOTE
Review your memories before pasting them in. Remove any that are outdated or no longer relevant to get a cleaner memory pack.
